Let's break out the long stick and find some fish on the flats. We will be pushing through and sight casting to fish roughly 20' to 50' away. Practicing before the trip including strip setting will really increase your chances of success. If you are unfamiliar with saltwater fly fishing, it is much different than trout fishing. If you have only trout fished, please let us know. We will help you adjust things before we are ready to cast at fish.
Nestled in between the Sun Coast and the Nature Coast is a very special area called Sand Bay. This area has expansive sand bottom flats mixed with deeper pockets and limestone.
This makes for some incredible sight fishing along with opportunities at other species on these rock piles. Come explore this area on a 6-hour charter. We will fish a few spots on the way up and back. Till then, tight lines!
If it’s anything like the 24’ season, 25' will be epic. Tarpon fishing off the beach is a unique experience with some big rewards! Tarpon migrate along the Suncoast as the water temps get into the mid to upper 70s. These larger migratory fish can offer exciting days with ample opportunities at 100lb+ fish as they swim along our beaches. The best time of year for migratory tarpon is May through August. Book your trip now!

Bring whatever you would like to eat or drink. I always have a few waters in the cooler. There is plenty of room in the cooler for a sandwich or snacks.
Other things you may wat to bring:
Absolutely! No judgement will be passed on the breakfast beer or 5 o'clock somewhere mentality. This is your trip, and you can do as you please. We just ask that you stay safe and inside the boat : ) There is always Tajin on the skiff!
Listen, ask questions and trust that I will do everything in my power to give you a great experience! Leave your ego at the ramp and let me "guide" you through a great day on the water. I will communicate with you through every part of the experience.
I do an assessment with every client before we ever see a fish. This allows us to get on the same page.
This will let me:
We will have a great time and catch some fish together!
Four hours is the perfect amount of time to target a specific part of the tide cycle. We usually get two optimal windows in the tides each day. We normally do not make long runs on our trips so you will have a rod in your hand for most of the trip.
There are a lot of factors that go into the time slot I suggest for your trip.
There are some adjustments that you will need to make. In these cases, we will start the day out on the water with a mini lesson. We will go over casting techniques, how to present the fly, retrieving the fly, and finally strip setting. This usually helps break some old habits and really improves your chances of success.

Sure, any guide who tells you no is lying or has only run one trip. I will say that I see fish on every trip with clients or when I am out scouting. We will absolutely see fish and have shots at them. After that there are a lot of factors that come into play that I cannot control.
This is where the old saying "Guide, not God" comes from.
You are in a very good situation since we will be throwing lures. You should feel right at home throwing around docks, oysters or skipping under trees. Your adjustment will come when sight casting tailing or moving fish. Trust in your skills and you will be fine.
Yes, if you feel like you will have a better experience with your gear then bring it. We have some of the best rods and reels out there on the skiff. But I totally get the "lucky rod" feeling.
Skiffs are incredible tools for fishing the skinny water. They do however limit how many people we can take. Good news is I know a lot of other Captains with skiffs. We can do a multiple skiff trip and even fish close enough to see each other. Just send an email and we can work it out.
By paying your deposit it locks in your date and automatically puts you on the calendar. This guarantees your trip and helps avoid double bookings or scheduling issues.

Can we reschedule?
In some cases. There are state guidelines on what can be kept on charters. We do encourage catch and release. We are here for the thrill of catching as many fish as possible and releasing those fish to grow and be caught again. Catch and release is the best way for us to help the fishery continue to grow. We have so many great local restaurants that have sustainably caught fresh fish for you to enjoy! If you want to keep some fish let's discuss it before you book.
When you book you will do a 25% deposit through PayPal. You don't need to sign up for anything they are simply a secure way to process your card. I will never see your card info or have access to it.
Your balance can be paid in cash, Venmo or through PayPal. Cash will help you avoid any fees.
Tips are never expected but always appreciated.
Word of mouth is the greatest thing and I love getting referrals from great clients. You can also go on Google, Yelp or Trip Advisor and leave a review if you like. My main concern is that you have a great time and come back time and time again! My goal is to make clients feel like friends, because everyone prefers to fish with friends!
